As the countdown to graduation begins, the Ipswich High School senior class is gearing up for one of the most exciting and unique events of the year, Runway 01938. This senior fashion show set to take place on Friday, March 14th, at the Ipswich Country Club, is more than just a stylish pageant. It’s a crucial fundraiser that helps support senior week events, prom, and lowers ticket costs for students. Unlike any other event in the area, this tradition brings the community together through creativity, entertainment, and school spirit.
The Senior Fashion Show is a long-standing tradition at Ipswich High School, dating back decades. Organized by senior class officers, advisors, parents, and local businesses, this event thrives on community involvement. Not only do students take the runway as models, but they also play a role in the event’s production. Some serve as announcers (MC’s) while others work behind the scenes to ensure everything runs smoothly.
Local businesses also play a significant role in the success of Runway 01938, generously donating outfits for the show and contributing baskets for the raffle. Various well known businesses, like Men’s Wearhouse and Giblees, are involved. The ongoing support from the local business community is both impressive and essential.
This year’s event will be held at the Ipswich Country Club, a venue that can accommodate up to 250 guests. With lively commentary and an enthusiastic crowd the atmosphere promises to be rousing. Attendees can expect to see a showcase of trendy outfits, comical announcements from student MCs, and the opportunity to win exciting raffle prizes.
Tickets for Runway 01938 are available for $40, with a discounted price of $10 for students. The cost of renting the venue is steep and will cost a couple thousand dollars. However, with strong community support, the event is expected to generate significant funds to benefit the senior class of 2025.
One of the most exciting aspects of Runway 01938 is the level of student involvement. Currently, around 51 students, 14 boys and 37 girls have signed up to participate as models. However, modeling isn’t the only way for students to take part. Some will be announcing the event, while others will work behind the scenes to manage logistics and production.
“There is no limit to the number of students who can participate,” said Mrs. Ellrott, Senior Class Advisor. “We encourage everyone to get involved, whether it’s walking the runway, helping with setup, or assisting backstage.”
Beyond raising money, Runway 01938 strengthens bonds within the senior class. It’s a night filled with laughter, creativity, and teamwork. Lastly, it’s an event that students will remember long after graduation.
Isaac G, Senior Class Treasurer and model, shared his excitement: “It’s not just about the fashion. It’s about coming together as a class, having fun, and putting on a great show for the community.”
Jenny White, Senior Class Secretary and model, emphasized the importance of keeping the tradition alive: “This event has been going on for years, and it’s something we all look forward to. It’s amazing to see how much effort everyone puts in, and the support from the community makes it even more special.”
With a dedicated website and plenty of opportunities to support the event, community members are encouraged to get involved. Whether it’s attending the show, donating, or simply spreading the word, every contribution helps make Runway 01938 a success.
“This is more than just a fundraiser; it’s a celebration of our senior class, our school spirit, and our community,” said Ollie Y, Senior Class Vice President and model.
So, mark your calendars for Friday, March 14th, and get ready for an unforgettable evening of fashion, fun, and fundraising. With student participation, community support, and a lively atmosphere, Runway 01938 is set to be a night to remember!
